The Role
We're looking for an Unreal Game Developer who obsesses over feel, performance, and polish. You'll build fast, responsive gameplay systems in UE5 and help ship features that make our AI-driven game experiences genuinely fun to play.
You'll work closely with designers, artists, and AI researchers to integrate our autonomous agents into compelling gameplay loops. This role blends hands-on C++/Blueprint implementation, performance tuning, and collaboration across disciplines to bring prototypes to production.
If you love squeezing milliseconds, crafting satisfying interactions, and building tools that help the whole team move faster, we'd love to talk.
- Build moment-to-moment gameplay systems (movement, combat, interaction)
- Create editor tooling and pipelines that speed up iteration
- Optimize for 60–120+ FPS on target platforms
- Collaborate with AI researchers to integrate agent behaviors and perception
Key Responsibilities
- Implement gameplay features in UE5 using C++ and Blueprints
- Design clean, extensible Actor/Component architectures and data-driven systems
- Profile and optimize CPU/GPU performance, memory usage, and load times
- Own networking and replication for responsive multiplayer experiences
- Build and maintain editor tools, debug visualizations, and developer workflows
- Integrate AI agent inputs/outputs into gameplay and UI hooks
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, art, audio, and research to deliver polished features
- Review code, write automated tests where applicable, and uphold engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years working with Unreal Engine 4/5 on shipped or live projects
- Strong C++ fundamentals and familiarity with Blueprints for rapid iteration
- Deep understanding of Unreal's gameplay framework (Actors, Components, Subsystems)
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization (Unreal Insights, RenderDoc, PIX)
- Comfort with multiplayer concepts (replication, prediction, rollback, authority)
- Solid grasp of math for games, physics, animation systems, and input handling
- Fluency with Git and modern collaboration workflows
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Gameplay Ability System (GAS)
- Knowledge of Chaos physics, Niagara, and materials/shaders
- Experience shipping on PC and/or console
- Familiarity with build pipelines, CI, and packaging for multiple platforms
- Background integrating ML/AI systems into gameplay or tools
Project Highlights
- Build tight, satisfying gameplay loops powered by cutting-edge AI agents
- Own features from prototype to production with a senior, low-ego team
- Optimize for high frame rates and responsiveness across platforms
- Shape editor tools and workflows that unlock rapid iteration
